Before You Leave: What You Need to Know

Hours: Most markets run from 9:00 to 13:00. Arrive before 10:00 for the best produce.
Cash: Many stalls don’t accept cards. Always carry some cash.
Parking: Leave the campervan on the outskirts and walk in. In high season, historic centres fill up fast.
What to buy: Sobrasada, ensaimada, Mallorcan cheese, local olive oil, ceramics, wicker.

The Route Day by Day

Day 1 — Monday: Manacor

We start in Manacor, the second largest city in Mallorca. Its Monday market fills the Plaza des Cós: fruit, vegetables, crafts and pearls — Manacor is also home to Majorica cultured pearls. Afterwards, the Coves del Drac are just 15 km away.

Where to sleep: Campervan area in Porto Cristo or S’Estany des Peix.

Day 2 — Tuesday: Artà

Artà is one of those villages that leaves you speechless. Cobbled streets climb toward the Sant Salvador sanctuary, and at its feet every Tuesday one of the island’s most recommended markets sets up. Fresh produce, wild flowers, local crafts and the most authentic atmosphere of the route.

Where to sleep: Around Colònia de Sant Pere, with views over the bay of Alcúdia.

Day 3 — Wednesday: Sineu

Sineu’s market has been held every Wednesday since the Middle Ages and is the only market in Mallorca that still has a live animal section — chickens, sheep, goats — right in the village square. Pure island atmosphere.

Where to sleep: Inland, near Lloret de Vistalegre or Petra.

Day 4 — Thursday: Campos + Inca

Early morning in Campos — a quiet southern village with an agricultural market. Best seasonal vegetables, local cheese and wicker baskets.

Then north to Inca, home to the largest market on the island. Known as the leather city — bags, belts, shoes at factory prices.

Where to sleep: Around Binissalem or Consell, on the Mallorcan wine route.

Day 5 — Friday: Binissalem

Binissalem is the heart of Mallorca’s wine region. Its Friday market is unhurried and local, with producers bringing what they’ve grown directly to the stalls. Spend the afternoon at one of the local wineries.

Where to sleep: Around Santa Maria del Camí or heading south toward Palma.

Day 6 — Saturday: Santanyí

The streets of this golden-stone village fill with crafts, ceramics, leather goods and flowers every Saturday. One of the most photogenic markets on the island. In the afternoon: Cala Santanyí, Cala Llombards or Es Pontàs.

Where to sleep: Cala d’Or, Portopetro or Colònia de Sant Jordi.

Day 7 — Sunday: Pollença

More than 300 stalls fill the old town every Sunday: local produce, crafts, vintage clothing, antiques. The festive atmosphere and the setting — Calvari steps in the background — is spectacular.

Where to sleep: Port de Pollença, with views over the bay.
