If you are thinking about renting a campervan in Mallorca for the first time, this guide answers all the questions you probably have. From the documents you need to how the pick-up works, the insurance included and what it actually costs.

How much does it cost to rent a campervan in Mallorca?

The price varies by season. At Babilon Caravan our rates are:

SeasonDatesPrice per night
LowNovember – March€120
MidApril, May, October€140
HighJune – September€160

These prices include fully comprehensive insurance, unlimited kilometres, bed linen, towels, a complete kitchen kit and 24/7 roadside assistance. No hidden charges.

In addition, a €1,000 security deposit is required at vehicle pick-up, which is returned within 72 hours of return provided the vehicle is in perfect condition.

What documents do I need to rent a campervan?

The requirements are straightforward:

  • Category B driving licence (European or international), in date
  • Minimum age: 25 years
  • Minimum licence tenure: 2 years
  • ID card or passport in date
  • Credit or debit card for the deposit

If you are coming from outside the EU, bring your international driving permit alongside your home country licence.

Is it hard to drive a campervan?

The most common question from those who have never driven one before. The short answer: easier than it looks.

The Tessoro 463 Up is 7.48 m long and 2.30 m wide. For reference: a large van like a Ford Transit measures about 5.5 m. The real difference is in the length, not the width.

Points to bear in mind:

  • Parking: Always choose spaces for long vehicles or wide open areas. Avoid historic town centres with narrow streets.
  • Mountain bends: The Serra de Tramuntana has roads with tight curves. Slow down and use the passing places when vehicles come the other way.
  • Height: The campervan is 2.97 m tall. Avoid car parks with height barriers lower than 3 m.

At pick-up, we take all the time needed so you leave feeling confident: we walk you through everything and answer any questions before you drive off.

What is included in the rental?

Everything you need to live comfortably throughout your trip:

Interior and equipment:

  • Fixed double bed + convertible double bed + single bed (capacity 4–5 people)
  • Bed linen (sheets, pillows, blankets)
  • Bath towels
  • Kitchen with gas hob, oven and refrigerator
  • Crockery, cutlery, pots and pans for 5 people
  • Bathroom with interior shower and WC

Technical:

  • Fully comprehensive insurance
  • Unlimited kilometres
  • 200 W solar panel for energy autonomy
  • 24/7 roadside assistance
  • Air conditioning

What is NOT included:

  • Fuel (delivered with a full tank and returned full)
  • Parking fees and tolls
  • Activities and monument entrance fees

What is the pick-up process like?

The campervan is picked up from our base in Palma de Mallorca, 5 minutes from the airport. If you are arriving by plane, you can come straight over with your luggage.

The pick-up process takes between 30 and 45 minutes:

  1. We check the exterior of the vehicle together (bodywork, tyres, lights)
  2. We walk you through the interior: how the kitchen, shower, WC, water tanks and solar panel work
  3. We confirm that all equipment is complete
  4. We sign the contract and process the deposit
  5. You set off with total confidence

There is no rush. We would rather you leave with every question answered than have to call us from the road.

What is the minimum rental period?

The minimum stay varies by season:

  • Low season (Nov–Mar): 3 nights minimum
  • Mid season (Apr, May, Oct): 4 nights minimum
  • High season (Jun–Sep): 5 nights minimum

In high season, Mallorca deserves at least a week. There is a great deal to discover and the first few days always pass in getting used to the rhythm of campervan life.

When is the best time to rent?

May and June are the ideal months: good weather, sea temperature comfortable enough for swimming, less crowded than July and August, and mid-season prices.

September and October are also excellent: the heat eases off slightly, beaches empty out almost completely and the sunsets are particularly beautiful.

July and August are the most in-demand months. If you have flexibility, avoid them. If not, book well in advance.

Frequently asked questions about renting

Can I bring pets? We do not accept pets in the campervan.

What happens if I have a technical problem during the trip? You have 24/7 roadside assistance available. You can also call Julián directly for any query or incident.

Can I take the campervan to other islands? Taking the campervan by ferry to other islands is not permitted.

Do I need to connect to mains electricity? Not necessarily. The 200 W solar panel provides autonomy for normal use. If you use the air conditioning intensively in summer, it may be worth connecting to the mains at a campsite every 2–3 days.

Why choose Babilon Caravan?

We are a small, personal business. Not a platform with thousands of vehicles — we are Julián and one campervan prepared with the same care you would put into a first-class hotel room.
